Tokyo Midtown

Tokyo Midtown is a 6.1 million square foot, mixed use development project designed by SOM and completed in 2007 on a 17-acre site at the heart of Tokyo's Roppongi district. This “city within a city” project features six buildings arranged among lush gardens and adjacent to Hinokicho Park. The complex includes Midtown Tower, one of Tokyo's tallest buildings; The Galleria, an elegant 5-story, 764,000 square foot shopping and dining complex; the Suntory Museum of Art; 21_21 Design Sight, a design museum created by architect Tadao Ando and fashion designer Issey Miyake; 107 luxury apartments; and the world-class Ritz-Carlton Tokyo hotel. The project has received several prestigious awards, including a Global Award for Excellence from the Urban Land Institute, and Best Mixed Use Building from MIPIM Asia. Tokyo Midtown is directly connected to Roppongi Station on the Oedo Subway Line.
